Michael Douglas is facing chemotherapy after doctors discovered he has a tumour in his throat.
A spokesman for Douglas confirmed he will receive eight weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
The 65-year-old actor released a statement, saying: "I am very optimistic."
